About the App

WW7ATS is a companion app for the WW7ATS Amateur Television (ATV) repeater system. Built for licensed ham radio operators, it lets you stream live video to the ATV repeater and watch incoming ATV feeds from your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV.

Do I need an amateur radio license to use this app?
You need a valid amateur radio license to transmit (stream) video to the repeater. Anyone can watch the incoming ATV feeds.
What is the WW7ATS repeater?
WW7ATS is an Amateur Television repeater system that allows ham radio operators to transmit and receive live video over amateur radio frequencies.
How do I configure the app?
Tap the gear icon to open Settings. Enter your amateur radio callsign and stream key. The WW7ATS server connection is pre-configured. Your callsign is used for the automatic Morse code CW station identification.
What stream quality options are available?
The app supports three quality levels: Low (360p), Medium (480p), and High (720p). Choose based on your available bandwidth.
What is the PTT button?
PTT (Push-To-Talk) controls the transmitter on the WW7ATS repeater system. Press and hold to transmit.
What is the slideshow feature?
You can select photos from your library to display as an auto-cycling slideshow with your live camera feed composited as a small picture-in-picture window.
Why does the app need camera and microphone access?
Camera and microphone permissions are required to broadcast live video and audio via RTMP to the ATV repeater.
The video stream won't start. What should I check?
Verify your stream key is correct in Settings. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and that camera/microphone permissions are granted.
Does the app work on Apple TV?
Yes! WW7ATS supports Apple TV using iPhone Continuity Camera. Your iPhone provides the camera and microphone wirelessly to your Apple TV over your local network. Both devices must be on the same network and signed into the same Apple Account.
What tvOS version is required?
The Apple TV version requires tvOS 17.0 or later.
What if no camera is detected on Apple TV?
Make sure your iPhone is nearby, on the same Wi-Fi network, and signed into the same Apple Account. Continuity Camera should appear automatically. If not, check that Continuity Camera is enabled in your iPhone's Settings under General > AirPlay & Continuity.
